International Law for the People

International law should not remain distant from ordinary people. ACIL translates legal norms into clear knowledge, practical tools, and community-centred advocacy.

Why ACIL

Across Africa, many of the struggles communities face such as displacement, conflict, climate harm, inequality, migration, state violence, and corporate abuse are also questions of international law. ACIL exists to help people understand these connections and use the law as a tool for dignity, justice, and accountability.

Empowerment

ACIL supports communities, students, activists, and grassroots organisations to understand international and regional human rights systems, including how to use them for advocacy and accountability.
